Why did Jenny Griffith actor Vanessa Ray leave Suits?

Jenny was introduced in the pilot episode of Suits as Trevor Evans’ (Tom Lipinski) girlfriend, who was Mike’s childhood friend.

The pair started off the season by losing touch as Mike began to make his name at Pearson Hardman.

This was heightened when Mike exposed Trevor’s new job and Jenny broke up with him.

However, then Mike and Jenny reconnected when he chose her as an outside friend to act in a court case trial against Kyle Durant (Ben Hollingsworth).

The pair began dating in season two of the show before Jenny became increasingly suspicious of Mike’s feelings for Rachel.

This culminated when Mike and Rachel kissed in season one episode 10, which Jenny then found out about later.

She was a recurring character in the first and second season before she left in episode eight of series two.

She appeared in this final episode in a number of flashback scenes to Mike’s college days.

While the actor never spoke about why she decided to leave, it seemed like her narrative had come to an end.

After she left the series, Mike and Rachel’s storyline progressed as the pair eventually got married.

Both of them left the show at the end of season seven to head to Seattle to start a new company.

Although Mike returned for season nine, Jenny never made another appearance in the hit legal series.

Another reason Ray probably didn’t return could be her role on long-running series Blue Bloods as Eddie Janko.

She has played the character in over 131 episodes on the popular series, with the latest season currently airing.

She also starred as CeCe Drake in Pretty Little Liars from 2012 until 2017.

While Ray didn’t return for the final series, one actor who did come back was Patrick J. Adams.

After leaving in season seven, he returned for three episodes in the final outing to reunite with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).

The pair came together for one last con in the final episode to oust Faye Richardson (Denise Crosby) from the firm.

The episode also ended with the reveal Harvey and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) were moving to Seattle.

This led to a callback to the first episode as Mike found himself interviewing Harvey for the new job.
